In this project we have proposed the possible redevelopment of a rural building with its expansion for residential purposes. The site is located in Apulian Coutryside so the materials of the rural Apulian and Mediterranean tradition are recombined to define a language contemporary and local at the same time. Trani stone is proposed for the ground floor walls and a white volume is suspended over it, while the floors are in stone-effect resin. The simplicity of the lines makes the architectural composition more modern and contemporary, while not loosing the local architecture features.
Even for the interior, a rural taste is proposed, without sacrificing elegance and contemporary style. The colors are in shades of beige to recall those of the surrounding earth and the resins used are combined with a few wooden inserts and with an exception: a rustic metal for the kitchen hood. The double-height space and the large windows overlooking the surrounding landscape offer a unique living experience.
